♥ Banff Engagement Portrait - Erin + Ryan ♥
e had just come out of a rainy week and were given a stunning evening for Erin & Ryan's mountain engagement session. I was thrilled that they asked if they could include their dog! I love it when couples include their dogs. They came prepared with a bag full of treats and toys and their handsome pup Indiana proved to be a perfect model. I instantly feel in love with Erin & Ryan's style. A pop of colour and a heart print dress that moved beautifully in the wind. Erin looked gorgeous with her red lips and golden curls. I love engagement sessions because they give me an opportunity to get to know a couple a little before their wedding day.

I can't wait for Erin & Ryan's winter wedding at Baker Creek. I consider an engagement session a sneak peek into a wedding day and our time with Erin & Ryan has made me impatient for winter to arrive so I can see their wedding day unfold.
I absolutely loved their pops of colour. Look at that handsome pup Indiana working it for the camera!
I absolutely love Erin's engagement ring which sparkled against her blue nails.
Gorgeous red lips and golden curls. I loved that Erin included the vintage locket that her sister had gifted her on her own wedding day. It was such a beautiful details.
Summer nights in the mountains left me feeling inspired.

♥ Emerald Lake engagement portrait - Kristen + Matt ♥
met up with Kristen and Matt to photograph their engagement session at Emerald Lake in a canoe. It was particularly fitting since Matt proposed to Kristen at Emerald Lake and they will be holding their wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge next year. We had a gorgeous morning and got into canoes right away.
This is just steps away from where Matt proposed.
Kristen and Matt had some serious skills to kiss in the middle of the canoe without tipping. I have to admit I was holding my breath and relieved when they both sat down in their own seats.
The spot where Matt proposed is in the background of this photo.

♥ 25th Anniversary Portrait - Carl + Paula ♥
his spring has been absolutely stunning in Banff. The ice has thawed early and the lakes and river are open. The sound of birds can be heard on mountain walks and the skies have been gorgeous.

Carl & Paula celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in front of the glacier at Lake Louise. It was a moving day that I'll never forget. We met up with them a few days later in Banff to take a few photos to remember their Canadian trip by before they travelled to the states and then back home to Australia. I was beyond thrilled that they were given a perfect evening for our drive around the mountains. It felt wonderful to drive around and take in the views while listening to stories about Carl and Paula's kids and the adventurous life they have spent together.
The moon was playing hide and seek with the clouds.
These handsome fellas greeted us.

♥ Banff Engagement portrait - Adam + Audrey ♥
dam and Audrey will be getting married in the mountains next year. They came down over the holidays to spend time skiing with their family and scheduled an engagement session with me while they were here. We were given a stunning morning for photographs and I loved getting to drive around Banff to take advantage of the beautiful sky and light that day. Adam and Audrey have a beautiful ease with each other that I loved getting to witness. They know how to make each other laugh and they have an unspoken quiet communication with each other that is lovely to be around.
I'm really excited about Adam and Audrey's wedding because they will have their ceremony in the grand Mount Stephen Hall and then they will invite their friends and family down to the Waldhaus pub for their reception. If you haven't been to the Waldhaus it's an amazing cozy space with incredible views that in the winter sits above a skating rink and toboggan hill with a fire pit that you can enjoy some s'mores with. The Waldhaus also earned the title of best wings in the Bow Valley and rightly so. Kevin and I went to the Waldhaus twice over the holidays for wings, warm pretzels and a giant 42 oz boot of beer. There are all kinds of cozy corners and a pool table making it an amazing space to spend time with friends and family.
Adam and Audrey share my love of Whitebark Cafe so we headed there for a latte warm up. The talented barista Sarah made them a couple of grizzly bear lattes.

♥ Banff Engagement Portrait - Yi Jun + Jean Luc ♥
i Jun and Jean Luc traveled all the way from Singapore for a ski vacation with their family and decided to have their engagement portraits taken while they were visiting Banff to use for their save the date cards for their wedding back home next year.

They were both brave to be heading out for winter engagement portraits having only just arrived from Singapore where it was 30 degrees warmer. We were lucky to get a fresh snowfall during their visit which made for beautiful photographs and they were up for photos in the snow despite the cold. Yi Jun and I had been writing each other for months and she asked me what colour I thought photographed well against the snow, I suggested red and I was thrilled to see they included red for pops of colour.

I feel very lucky to have photographed their engagement portraits and to have documented their time in the Canadian Rocky mountains so that they can share them at their wedding in Singapore.
