♥ Emerald Lake Engagement Session - Jessica + Ryan ♥
J
essica & Ryan are hosting a destination winter wonderland wedding at Emerald Lake in 2017. They flew up from San Francisco to spend some time in the mountains and we all met at Emerald Lake for a rainy engagement session. These two were up for anything and we shared a lot of laughs under umbrellas dodging the downpours and embracing the rain. Jessica wore my dream dress which looked stunning against Emerald Lake.

I can't wait for their wedding day!!

♥ Lake Louise Engagement session - Gillian + Liam ♥
I
'm excited to be photographing Gillian & Liam's mountain wedding this fall. Gillian & Liam planned a romantic getaway over Valentine's week-end where they spent time at their venue, cross country skied, ate good food and relaxed in a hot tub with a mountain view. They asked me if they could meet up with me to take their engagement portraits in Lake Louise while they were out. It gave Gillian a chance to do her hair & make-up trial and the perfect opportunity for me to get to know them a little as a couple before their wedding day.

In the winter our good photo light is limited so I was thrilled when Gillian & Liam were willing to get up early so we could capture the beautiful morning light which also had the added bonus of us beating the crowds. After we finished our session Gillian & Liam headed to the Chateau for their favourite onion soup to warm up before getting to spend dinner with family. A perfect week-end in the mountains!

♥ Banff Engagement Portrait - Erin + Ryan ♥
W
e had just come out of a rainy week and were given a stunning evening for Erin & Ryan's mountain engagement session. I was thrilled that they asked if they could include their dog! I love it when couples include their dogs. They came prepared with a bag full of treats and toys and their handsome pup Indiana proved to be a perfect model. I instantly feel in love with Erin & Ryan's style. A pop of colour and a heart print dress that moved beautifully in the wind. Erin looked gorgeous with her red lips and golden curls. I love engagement sessions because they give me an opportunity to get to know a couple a little before their wedding day.

I can't wait for Erin & Ryan's winter wedding at Baker Creek. I consider an engagement session a sneak peek into a wedding day and our time with Erin & Ryan has made me impatient for winter to arrive so I can see their wedding day unfold.
I absolutely loved their pops of colour. Look at that handsome pup Indiana working it for the camera!
I absolutely love Erin's engagement ring which sparkled against her blue nails.
Gorgeous red lips and golden curls. I loved that Erin included the vintage locket that her sister had gifted her on her own wedding day. It was such a beautiful details.
Summer nights in the mountains left me feeling inspired.

♥ Emerald Lake engagement portrait - Kristen + Matt ♥
I
met up with Kristen and Matt to photograph their engagement session at Emerald Lake in a canoe. It was particularly fitting since Matt proposed to Kristen at Emerald Lake and they will be holding their wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge next year. We had a gorgeous morning and got into canoes right away.
This is just steps away from where Matt proposed.
Kristen and Matt had some serious skills to kiss in the middle of the canoe without tipping. I have to admit I was holding my breath and relieved when they both sat down in their own seats.
The spot where Matt proposed is in the background of this photo.

♥ 25th Anniversary Portrait - Carl + Paula ♥
T
his spring has been absolutely stunning in Banff. The ice has thawed early and the lakes and river are open. The sound of birds can be heard on mountain walks and the skies have been gorgeous.

Carl & Paula celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in front of the glacier at Lake Louise. It was a moving day that I'll never forget. We met up with them a few days later in Banff to take a few photos to remember their Canadian trip by before they travelled to the states and then back home to Australia. I was beyond thrilled that they were given a perfect evening for our drive around the mountains. It felt wonderful to drive around and take in the views while listening to stories about Carl and Paula's kids and the adventurous life they have spent together.
The moon was playing hide and seek with the clouds.
These handsome fellas greeted us.
