I love that magical moment at Emerald Lake when the lake hasn't frozen yet but snow has dusted the mountain peaks & trees. It doesn't happen every year but it was stunning for Dorothy & Drew's winter elopement.
Dorothy & Drew's day was filled with lots of belly laughs & happy tears. It felt incredibly special to get to witness these two share their amazing personal vows in such a gorgeous setting. It was a really moving and fun afternoon. It felt incredibly peaceful and beautiful at Emerald Lake. We had the place to ourselves. We left feeling full of joy and so very lucky to get to witness such beauty.
Dorothy is a Grade 1 French teacher and when her 6 year old students found out that she was getting married they got to work on fashioning this plastic veil for her and asked her to walk down the "aisle" between their desks. I'm sure Dorothy's students will be thrilled to know that she wore the veil they made her on her wedding day.
I loved Drew's style. The sweater under his suit jacket was the perfect touch for a winter elopement.
Long johns & wool socks are the perfect accessories for a winter elopement.
