Robert & Jessica planned their dream roadtrip to explore the Canadian Rockies and British Columbia from their home in Europe. As they were doing their research for the places they wanted to visit and hikes they wanted to do in the mountains together they realized that the Canadian Rockies would be the perfect place for them to elope. It could not of been a more perfect fit for these sweethearts who love nature. They enlisted the help of Julie from Rocky Mountain Weddings to help them plan their day long distance since once they arrived in Canada they would be in a RV and mostly out of WiFi range. We were all ecstatic when their day arrived and the mountains were showing off. Every part of their day felt like it was touched by magic.
We started their day with a First Look in the Raspberry patch.
Just as we approached The Viewpoint for the ceremony Nigel from Cascade Ensemble struck the perfect note on his cello which reached Jessica & Robert and made them tear up. It was now the official walk down the aisle for these two and it was beautiful.
Hans their wedding officiant created a beautiful ceremony for Robert & Jessica that included a touching poem by Charlotte Bronte. I wanted to share it here because the words were just right for Robert & Jessica's day;
"I have for the first time found what I can truly love- I have found you.
You are my sympathy-my better self-my good angel-I am bound to you with a strong attachment.
I think you good, gifted, lovely:
a fervent, a solemn passion is conceived in my heart; it leans to you,
draws you to my centre and spring of life, wrap my existence about you-
and kindling in pure, powerful flame, fuses you and me in one."
Dear Friends of the Newlyweds sent over a video they had made to congratulate them that Julie played for them after the ceremony.
Dragonflys have long believed to be good luck. The Dragonfly has been a symbol of happiness, new beginnings and change for many centuries. So the fact that dragonflys followed the newlyweds on their canoe trip was perfect.
It is always an honour and exciting to get to visit places in the mountains with couples who are seeing them for the first time. It makes me even more grateful for this beautiful place we are lucky to call home.
