Alyssa and Jeff's week-ends are typically filled with hiking, camping, fishing and time with their dog Lola every free moment they have. They wanted to share their love of the mountains with their families so they planned a destination wedding in Banff. It was the perfect place for everyone to spend time together the week of the wedding. I was especially excited that they brought their sweet dog Lola along!
They had so many thoughtful details throughout their day like the sweatshirts that a friend designed for them. I was moved by the brooch that Alyssa had made that was created from her brother's signature who passed away. It was a lovely way to have him close on the wedding day.
Alyssa set up a Bride Reveal with her Dad before they left for the church.
Alyssa & Jeff didn't want to see each other before the ceremony but they wanted to hold hands before walking down the aisle.
A really special detail was that Alyssa & Jeff invited the priest who has witnessed Alyssa grow up and is close to their family to perform their wedding ceremony. One thing that I LOVED that he did was that he had Alyssa and Jeff face their friends and family. So often with church ceremonies the couples have their backs to their loved ones the entire ceremony. It was a really sweet part of the ceremony because they could look out and see the faces of their loved ones.
Alyssa's parents surprised the newlyweds with the Vintage Rolls Royce! When they stepped out of the church the Rolls was waiting for them to drive them around for photos. It was a nice way for Alyssa & Jeff to get some quiet time together as they were driven around the mountains in style.
Lola cracked me up by putting her entire face in the water.
Alyssa's parents surprised them by hiring a retired Mountie to greet their guests for cocktail hour. He fit in perfectly! Guests could take selfies with him and ask about life as a Mountie. I learned a bunch of fascinating details about what it was like for a Mountie if he wanted to get married in the past.
The views from the patio at Park Distillery are beautiful!
The food at Park Distillery is outstanding! It's the perfect place for couples who want good food to be a priority on their wedding day. Alyssa & Jeff chose to have serving stations so that guests could eat and visit without any formal stiffness. It was the perfect set up. They featured pulled pork sliders you could assemble, fall off the bone ribs, cornbread, the most amazing roasted potatoes and a caesar salad bar amongst so much more.
