We stepped into Where the Buffalo Roam Saloon on Main Street in Canmore last night so I could try my very first Eggnog and were delighted to see it all decked out for Christmas with lights, candy canes, and ornaments hanging from every surface and the best of classic Christmas music playing amongst the sounds of friends and family laughing and catching up. It felt so cozy and festive. There were kids eating grilled cheese sandwiches and parents sipping eggnog and friends sharing drinks over scotch eggs. We sat down at the bar and I ordered my eggnog and watched in fascination as the bartender made my egg nog from scratch...no carton of pre-made eggnog here! From our seats we could peek into the kitchen window and see the Chefs busy at the grill with Santa hats atop of their heads. The owner brought in bags filled to the brim with more sparkly Christmas decorations to add to the atmosphere. I was told this week-end that they are doing a Christmas Cocktail pop-up with different Christmas inspired cocktails to try every day. My eggnog was incredible and I was so pleased that I chose the Canmore saloon to try my first. I can't wait to stop in over the holidays for drinks and catch-ups in the cutest Christmas spirit saloon.
