Perhaps one of the most famous views is that of Lake Louise with Victoria Glacier as the dramatic backdrop. Lake Louise's popularity means crowds and parking can be an issue in the summer. It's best to go early in the day or in the late afternoon for the best experience. Make a note that the last canoes go out at 6pm.

The lake thaws and freezes at different times every year but generally speaking canoes are available to start renting in June and are put away in September.
